What’s the Dress Code?
Generally, we like to say we’re “Central Oregon casual”, but at Easter all bets are off. You will definitely see plenty of jeans and t-shirts, but you will also see children in giant, floppy hats who have never before donned a giant, floppy hat. You just never know what you’re going to get at Easter. The downside to that is: it may not seem cool if you’re used to churches that dress churchier. The upside? Pretty much anything you wear is going to fit right in here.
I’ve heard the parking is crazy. True or false?
Yeah, that’s pretty much true. Thousands of people drive hundreds of cars in and out of our campus on Easter weekend and if you’re not expecting that, it can feel a little nutty. But we’ve tried to put things in place to make the parking experience easier, quicker and happier, including a new exit on the Westside of the campus. We’ve also spaced the service times in a way that avoids the most serious bottleneck situations. Finally, we’ve placed friendly and skilled parking lot folks, armed with lots of Easter candy, to help guide you to a place your car can rest comfortably while you enjoy our services.
Is there coffee?
We’d like to answer that question with a question: Are the mountains beautiful on a sunny day? Are black clothes the most slimming? Does Superman fly super fast? Yes. There will absolutely be coffee – hot, delicious and conveniently located at various entrances. Specialty coffee is also available for purchase at the coffee bar located in our lower atrium.
What will the service be like?
We love Easter at Westside and believe it should be one of the most wonderful, joy-filled days of the year. The band will play songs you might recognize and songs you might not, ranging from brand new to very old. Pastor Steve will give a twenty-minute talk about hope and life and the reason we have both. If you are a visitor, fear not – you will not be asked to identify yourself by standing, spinning or doing a magic trick. You will be warmly welcomed and invited to enjoy the service and the wonder of Easter from the comfort of your seat. Speaking of seats, we have lots of ‘em throughout our campus. The main worship center fills up first (plan an early arrival if you prefer sitting there) and then we direct guests into our overflow venues where you’ll also find coffee and friendly, helpful folks.
What about the Easter egg hunt for my kids?
It’s happening and will feature 10,000 Easter eggs! But not at every service. Our famous Easter egg hunt will take place on Sunday at 7:45 am & 12:30 pm. For the safety and fun of all our littles, the age limit is 5th grade and younger. We have lots of amazing grownups on hand to help with the big hunt, but we ask that parents still stick close to their kids.
When are the services and when should I show up?
Easter services are Sunday, April 1st at 8:15, 9:45, 11:15 am and 5:30 pm. Arrival time is up to you, but plan on fifteen minutes or so to park and find a seat.
In conclusion, Easter is our favorite and we would love to share it with you and yours. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have other questions.
