I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:2-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It is easy to look at all that is happening around the world and wonder why God doesn’t do something. As I shared a few weeks ago, we have taken God out of our lives and our conversations and then we have the audacity to wonder where he is when things go bad. Maybe they’ve gone bad because we have removed him from our lives and, at best, he is a small part of our lives.

What Paul encourages us in Colossians 2:2-3 is to trust that God is at work in the world. And rather than trying to figure everything out and understand it all, we should seek a greater knowledge of Him. The amazing thing about Jesus is the personal nature of our relationship with him. He actually interacts with us and let’s us in on the questions about life. He knows everything and knows the future as well as our past. He can help us understand what is happening in our world, but we have to listen to him and strengthen a relationship with him.
Here is an encouraging excerpt from a devotion I’ve been reading:

“When it seems like confusion and chaos are threatening every circumstance in your life, will you rest on professional advice, intuition, or the Word of God? When it seems like you are fighting battles all alone, will you stand on what you know about God and His character? When you struggle with finding peace and comfort in this world, will you stand on what you know about God and His promises? Will you begin to share all you know about God with someone who needs Him?”
