Joy: Fourth Sunday of Advent

Today we light the candle of joy. As we wait for Jesus, the Everlasting Father, we sit and reflect and pray for our world. Pray for our communities and neighbors and that joy would permeate the places and spaces we enter.

Read
John 1:1-5
In the beginning the Word already existed.
    The Word was with God,
    and the Word was God.
He existed in the beginning with God.
God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.
The Word gave life to everything that was created,
and his life brought light to everyone.
The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Pray
O God of Elizabeth and Mary, you visited your servants with the news of the world’s redemption in the coming of the Savior. Make our hearts leap with joy, and fill our mouths with songs of praise, that we may announce glad tidings of peace and welcome the Christ in our midst. Amen.

Light
As you light the candle, breathe in joy. Breathe out joy.
