Today we light the candle of hope. As we wait for Jesus, the hope of the world, our Mighty God, we sit and reflect and pray for our world. Pray for our communities and neighbors and that hope would permeate the places and spaces we enter.
Read:
Jeremiah 33:14-16
Look! The days are coming when I will fulfill the promise I made to the people of Israel and Judah. In those days, when the time is right, I will cause a righteous Branch to sprout from the old stump of David’s lineage; He will do what is right and just in the land. In those days, Judah will be liberated, and Jerusalem will live in safety. And the city will be called by His name, The Eternal Is Our Righteousness.
Pray:
We seek the mighty God in the most unlikely places as a child in a stable, and in an empty tomb. May God hear these prayers, which come from the unlikely corners of our lives.
Give us ears to hear O God, and eyes to watch, that we may know your presence in our midst during this holy season of joy as we anticipate the coming of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Light:
As you light the candle, breathe in hope. Breathe out hope.
