Westside will offer our next Free Food Market on Monday, September 26th, from 1:30pm–2:30pm in the Student Center!

With the recent increase of food costs, we are grateful to be able to partner with NeighborImpact to provide a shopping experience for low-income families in our community. If this event would be helpful to your family, or if you would like to pick up groceries for another family in need, we look forward to seeing you!

We couldn’t do this without our amazing team of volunteers! We are always looking for more people to join the team!

Our annual School Supply Giveaway was a beautiful expression of community and the generosity of Jesus. We gifted 198 bags of supplies directly to students during the event and also prepared 50 more bags to give to families at our monthly Free Food Market. We love hosting families on campus as it enables us to extend the life and love of Jesus through relationship. 30 kids received free hair cuts at this event and our Hot Dog BBQ was enjoyed by 300 people. Thank you Westside for being a generous church!

This coming Saturday, August 20th, is our School Supply Giveaway event! If you know of a family who would benefit from receiving a cinch bag of age appropriate school supplies, or if that would be a help to you and your family, please join us for this event! It will be a fun family environment which will include a hot dog lunch and other surprises. No registration needed. Every child present will receive a bag of school supplies. The giveaway will be from 11:00am–1:00pm in the Westside Student Center and Family Commons.

Westside is now collecting school supplies in preparation for our School Supply Giveaway event! Last year, we were able to provide 311 students, K-12th grade, with school supplies and Walmart gift cards. We would love your participation in purchasing school supplies—in stores and online.

Please bring or send needed supplies to Westside Church on or before August 15th. Office hours are Monday-Thursday from 9am–2pm. If you are ordering supplies online, you can ship supplies directly to Westside Church at 2051 NW Shevlin Park Rd, Bend, OR 97703. (Please make sure they will be delivered by the 15th.) If you are attending services in person, feel free to drop off your supplies in the Westside Atrium before or after services on Sunday August 8th and Sunday August 14th.

Thank you for caring for families in our city!

It’s no secret that there are more homeless and hurting people in Central Oregon than at any other time in our history. And although there is no easy fix to homelessness in Central Oregon, a Westsider with a local coffee company is hoping that together we can make a long-term difference.

Westsider Robert Brown of Tower Roasting Co. has created a monthly coffee subscription where 50% of profits will be donated to Shepherd’s House Ministries. Shepherd’s House is one of our community partners and has a proven reputation of serving with the heart of Jesus and in unity with our city government.

Robert’s goal is to draw in at least 1,500 subscribers and donate at least $150,000 each month to the Bend homeless shelter!

Mission, Vision, & Partnerships

The mission of Westside’s Global Outreach is to help people around the world know Jesus and become more like Him.

Our vision is that everyone everywhere will experience the life and love of Jesus. We envision the love of Jesus being poured out through His people to all His peoples, like rivers of living water overflowing their banks.

We will partner, and we will go. We have developed strategic and ongoing partner relationships with missionaries on the field. We provide care and resources and send small teams of people to support their ongoing work.

Westside Global has three focus areas and two partner organizations. We partner with Bold Ventures in Eastern Africa, and we partner with Foursquare Missions in the European countries of Croatia and Bosnia and also in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

Field Updates and Opportunities

Bold Ventures
We partner with Bold Ventures to extend the life and love of Jesus to the ends of the earth. Your regular giving supports a network of village pastors that are training & sending African missionaries to unreached tribes throughout East Africa.

If you feel the call to get on a plane and serve in Africa personally, we will be taking a team from Westside to East Africa in December this year. Watch for updates and get ready to go to the mission field!

Foursquare Missions
We partner with Foursquare Missions in Croatia and Bosnia and also in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

Our Croatian partners have been helping provide transportation into Croatia, as well as lodging and jobs, to families from Ukraine who have lost their homes in the ongoing war.

Our partners in Mexico have planted a local church and are ministering to local families and youth. Please pray with us as we send our first team since 2019 to Mexico this July to participate in the launch of our partner church’s very first youth summer camp!

We are planning to send small teams to both Europe and Mexico in 2022! More information and dates to come.

Questions? Contact us and select Local & Global Outreach.

Give to our Ministry Fund to support the ongoing work of Westside’s Global Outreach.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month! We are so grateful for those who sacrificially care for children and families in need. You are not just helping one child or one family, you are participating in the hope and health of our entire community.

Kindred Connections | Awareness and Opportunities
Kindred Connections walks beside families by providing mentoring relationships for parents and temporary housing for children in times of need. In partnership with local churches, volunteers build connections with vulnerable families and open their homes to children. While their children are safe, parents can address the difficult season of life. Kindred Connections keeps children safe and gives families hope. ODHS Appreciation Project

Locally | We donated over 1,000 pounds of food through our recent canned food drive! Every month, Westside provides quality groceries for 50–75 families at our Free Food Market because of your continued giving.

Globally | Your faithful giving to Wetstide’s General Fund allowed our church to contribute $10,000 in relief funds toward displaced, hurting families from Ukraine and Russia. Learn more about Westside’s support of people impacted by the war in Ukraine.

Together, we are bringing the Gospel of Jesus to our city and world — in word and action.

How can we work together to support those impacted by Russia’s war against Ukraine?

Westside has donated $10,000 from our General Fund to Foursquare Disaster Relief — part of our broader church family — and their ongoing relief efforts through local Foursquare churches in Europe. These funds will directly provide food, life-saving essentials, and emergency housing for Ukranians displaced and affected by war.

Give | If you would also like to give directly to Foursquare Disaster Relief and support this life-saving work, you can do so below or by texting 4Relief to 77977.

Pray | Would you also consider spending time in prayer for those impacted by Russia’s war against Ukraine?

  • Pray for the churches in Ukraine as they minister to the needs of their nation.
  • Pray for the Ukranian families that are being separated.
  • Pray for the churches and people of Russia, as they are also suffering the consequences of the war against Ukraine.

Together, as the Church, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus to the people of Ukraine.

Westside’s annual Canned Food Drive is happening this week, and all donated pantry items will benefit our monthly Free Food Market. We will provide a drive-through & drop-off option on Wednesday, March 16th, from 10am–3pm — or feel free to stop by the church office any time on Monday–Thursday from 9am–2pm.
