Read: Romans 5:6-21

Romans 5:6-8 tells us it is unusual for a man to give his life, even for a righteous person, or even for a good person. But God has demonstrated his love for us in this: that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Take a moment to reflect on the power of this love. How do we begin to understand God’s love in light of our brokenness?

Paul speaks much on the work of reconciliation that God enacts and fulfills through Jesus. Paul says that we were God’s enemies, but God himself reconciled us through Jesus. So much so that we can boast in the work of Christ for us.  What does this act of reconciliation tell us about the heart of God toward his “enemies”? How should this generous act of reconciliation toward us cause us to respond toward our “enemies”? What are some circumstances you are living in right now? How might this God-given example of reconciliation be used in your own circumstances in life?
