NUESTRO CORAZÓN Y VISIÓN

Nuestro deseo es construir un ministerio donde haya vida y armonía entre diversas culturas dentro de nuestra iglesia y en la comunidad del Centro de Oregon. Le damos la bienvenida a las familias de habla hispana, confiando que en Westside van a poder encontrar un espacio donde sean recibidos con amor y tengan la oportunidad de pertenecer e involucrarse. En nuestro corazón tenemos la necesidad de promover unidad a través del desarrollo de un espacio único donde todos puedan aprender y crecer, atravesando juntos las barreras culturales y lingüísticas para llegar a ser una comunidad unida y armoniosa.

Nuestra visión como iglesia es el formar una comunidad de fe rica en diversidad, un lugar donde los hispanohablantes y los angloparlantes sirvan a Jesús juntos. Vemos un espacio donde todos son bienvenidos, todos tienen una voz y esa voz se expresa en más de un solo idioma.

The Heart and Vision

Our heart is to build a vibrant culturally-bridging ministry within our church. We want to provide a clear welcome and opportunities for engagement so that Spanish-speaking families can find community and belonging at Westside. Our heart is one of all of us learning to navigate cultural and language barriers in order to come to a place of unity and understanding.

Our vision is that Westside will be a more diverse and richer community of faith, a place where Spanish and English speakers serve Jesus side by side. We see a place where everybody is welcome, everyone has a voice, and that voice is spoken in more than one language.

NUESTRO REUNIÓN BILINGÜE

¡Estamos felices por anunciar con el comienzo de nuestra reunión bilingüe! Comenzaremos en el domingo de Pascua. Esta reunión semanal proporciona un lugar donde tanto hispanohablantes como angloparlantes pueden congregarse para adorar y aprender la Palabra juntos.

El pastor Gonzalo está a cargo de esta reunión la cuál mantiene la misma línea temática que es compartida en las otras reuniones de la iglesia. De esta manera, continuaremos siendo una iglesia, ahora en múltiples lugares e idiomas.

Únase a nosotros en línea a las 10:30am y disfrute de nuestra reunión bilingüe.

Our Bilingual Service

This weekly service provides a place for both English speakers and Spanish speakers to gather, worship and learn the Word together.

Pastor Gonzalo coordinates this service and keeps the content in sync with the weekly content in our other venues. In this way, we will continue to be one church, now in multiple venues and languages.

En agosto de 2018, Gonzalo Franco se unió al equipo de Westside. Gonzalo es de Argentina, y su esposa Ashlen es de Bend. Tanto a Gonzalo como a Ashlen les apasiona ver a la comunidad hispanohablante incorporarse a la familia de la Iglesia Westside.

Existen distintas oportunidades para participar. Se llevan a cabo reuniones de “grupos de vida” bilingües, clases, eventos y estudios bíblicos en español. Visítenos a nuestro servicio bilingüe semanal, que comenzará el Domingo de Pascua de 2020.

Ways to Connect

In August of 2018, we brought Gonzalo Franco on staff part-time. Gonzalo is from Argentina, and his wife Ashlen is from Bend. Both Gonzalo and Ashlen have a passion to welcome Spanish speakers into the Westside Church family and to help engage both Spanish and English speakers into their God given purpose.

We have opportunities for Spanish speaking engagement, from bi-lingual Life group gatherings, classes and events to Bible studies in Spanish. And of course, we have our weekly Bilingual service, launched Easter Sunday of 2020.

Free Food Market January 24th

Westside Church will offer our monthly Free Food Market on Monday, January 24^th, 1:30-2:30, inside the Westside Church Student Center! In partnership with Neighbor Impact, we provide a shopping experience where you get to choose your own supplementary groceries. If this would be of help to your family, or if you would like to pick up groceries for another family in need, we look forward to seeing you! Location: Westside Church, 2051 NW Shevlin Park Rd, Bend

*Location has changed to inside the Student Center gym for 2022.

Bilingual Ministry Update and Opportunities!

We are so excited that Westside Church has a Bilingual Ministry that includes a weekly live and online Bilingual service! Launched in April of 2020, we saw the current needs of our city as a reason to launch without delay! Our Bilingual Ministry is an opportunity for increased unity and understanding and shared mission. We feel that being a diverse people reflects the love and heart of Jesus towards our world.

We have immediate opportunities for involvement in our bilingual service worship ministries. All languages and instruments are welcome and we would love you to join in on this beautiful adventure! Volunteer Today
