City Without Orphans exists to see the healing and strengthening of family for every single vulnerable child. We envision a world where the marginalized in our culture no longer go unnoticed. We see the orphan who was once forgotten—forgetting what it feels like to be an orphan. Family will be redefined, beyond shared blood or relation. People will take care of each other because they will see the face of the Creator in the faces of each other. It’s our responsibility to care for the least of these in our city, and in this responsibility we will see our world forever changed. Will you join us?
Interested in supporting the vulnerable in our community through distributing food to the hungry, delivering household goods, wrapping Christmas presents, supporting foster families, and more? Get involved with Local Outreach and help us show the love of Jesus while meeting the needs of the marginalized in our own backyard.
Frontline Families represents the portion of City Without Orphans that engages directly in the care of children who are slipping through the cracks in our society—and the families who have stepped up to the frontlines to catch them. We recognize that there are hundreds, upon thousands of kids who need families to love them—whether it’s for a weekend, a few months or forever. We invite those of you who share this burden to join our Frontline Family community as we seek to meet the deepest needs of vulnerable children in our community through fostering, adopting, temporarily hosting—or supporting those who do.
I Heart 365 is one of our favorite ways to show love to our community. Sign up for our text-in line and help us meet the tangible needs of others in our community. Simply text IH365 to 313-131

Every 4th Monday of the month, from 1:45 – 2:45 pm in the Student Center, Westside distributes fresh produce, meat, bread, dairy, canned and boxed foods to anyone who needs it. There is no application process, all you have to do is show up and check in at the table. Cascade Youth Camps are free summer camps designed for at-risk and foster youth, ages 12-17. The goal of CYC is to encourage, support, and give kids hope for their future. Boys and girls camps are offered separate weeks, and both take place in the summer. Volunteers are needed to counsel kids, work in the kitchen, take pictures, etc.
Our annual Giving Tree Outreach provides toys, clothing, blankets, food, and other resources to hundreds of children and families throughout Central Oregon at Christmastime. Volunteers are needed to shop, wrap, organize and distribute gifts. All applications must be completed by November 4.
Providing school supplies, cinch bags, free lunch, and even haircuts for families who need them. Volunteers are needed to purchase supplies and attend the distribution event in the Fall. Families in need can simply show up and receive the supplies their family needs so they can go back to school with confidence.
Throughout the year, Westside hosts special events such as the Blood Drive, Frontline Family Gatherings, events for our Community Partners, etc. We need people to help us plan and organize these events. If you’ve got a knack for organization and decoration, let us know who you are! We’d love to have your help as special events come up throughout the year.
We partner with nonprofits and government agencies in our community, as we work together to care for vulnerable families. Learn more about our Community Partners and contact them directly if you’d like to get involved.
